And I couldn’t be more exhilarated.

 

The paint came out and the delivery went well but this is only the beginning. Looking at the exhibition map I was reminded of what an honor it is that ‘Bird’ is featured prominently on the graphic design for this exhibit.  I have personal tour coming up on 6/10/15 and the opening on 6/18/15.  Come join me.

Yet again I am in the thick of what I love to do, making art.  The rigging of this piece is something to behold, and working on a problem without the use of a secured surface is something that has changed my perspective when working.

 

Onward and upward.

I am so excited for this opportunity. Only one problem, the sculpture I submitted and got accepted for is buried under 2′ of snow in Wisconsin.

 

Sounds like it’s time for a road trip. Follow me on a journey, that has me driving across a lake!

Just in time everything has come together, I don’t even want to think back to when I began and started this body of work (Oct 2012).  But it has now finally come to its conclusion. With my show this coming Saturday I can’t wait till I can breath easy after the show and call this one DONE… for now.

 

We have a long drive ahead of us but the show at the end of this road, which will keep me wide awake and full of energy.  See you there if you can make it.

What’s next for these pieces? I stumbled upon a flyer for the competition “Sculpt Siouxland” and couldn’t help but think that I-IV would fit with their look.  With little time before the February 15th deadline for submission I am shifting most of my focus from other projects to geting these pieces ready for the jury. ]]> http://matthewcsernansky.com/?feed=rss2&p=502 0 Static Flow Reception http://matthewcsernansky.com/?p=385 http://matthewcsernansky.com/?p=385#comments Thu, 13 Dec 2012 23:33:10 +0000 http://matthewcsernansky.com/?p=385 On December 2nd my friends and family joined me for a day of celebration—the opening of my sculpture show at Componere Gallery in St Louis MO.  With wine and cheese greeting guests at the door, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to show my just completed and recent work.  “I-IV” is a new set of interpretations of the four elements—all variations on the geometry of a cube. The finish is an oil rub designed to bring the edges and angles into focus. “Elements” is my prior exploration of the four elements (earth, air, fire and water) formed from sheet stainless steel, hand-hammered, welded and painted. A set of “Elements” was purchased in October and now makes its home in Wyoming. The pieces looked fantastic all together in a bright and beautiful gallery setting.

 

The show will be up for the rest of the month and I encourage anyone that has the opportunity to check it out and tell me what you think!
