Bronze and copper, 6′ x 8′ x 4′
Mother was a commission for the Haven of Grace located at, 1225 Warren Street St. Louis, MO 63106. This shelter is designed to help single women with small children and mothers that are expecting. Located in a lower income neighborhood, the only requirement that these women need to fulfill to obtain residency is making sure to enroll themselves in education.
Being a women’s shelter the sculpture I wanted to create a sculpture of a strong women ready to move forward and take on the world. Using bronze and copper these figures were fabricated and installed in the community garden.
